LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – Firefighters from the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company were dispatched to a passenger van fire (Box 80-12) on Stony Hill Road in the area of the Giant Food Store on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 dispatched at approximately 1:29 p.m.
Yardley-Makefield Fire Company Rescue 80 driven by Fire Chief Glenn Chamberlain arrived on location and its crew stretched the trash line and quickly went in service battling the blaze.
Yardley-Makefield Fire Company Special Service 0 driven by Firefighter Barry Dinola also arrived and its crew assisted with the extinguishment.
Yardley-Makefield Fire Company Firefighter Colby Fisher (nozzle) backed up on the hose line by Yardley-Makefield Fire Company Firefighter Tim “T-Bone” Brown advanced the fully involved passenger van and quickly knocked the bulk of the fire.
Yardley-Makefield Fire Company Firefighter Barry Dinola stretched the Hurst Spreaders from Rescue 80 and popped the hood of the van so the fire attack crew could extinguish the remaining flames on the engine block.
Also on location from the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company were Lieutenant Larry Newman and Deputy Fire Marshal Kevin Campbell.
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department (42) was also on location.
