DERBY, CT - Atlantic Air 1 was special called to Derby, CT on Sunday, February 7, 2010. The Storms Engine Co. was called to a home in town for a patient with special needs. The patient needed to go to Connecticut Childrens Medical Center in Hartford, CT.

With the two Connecticut LifeStar's busy at an MCI in Middletown, the chiefs of Storms decided to call for the next closet helicopter. DFD crews set up a landing zone at Bradley School and established a water supply.

Crews worked well with the ambulance and helicopter crew, making the transition as smooth as possible for the patient.
